Grga Bašić is a Senior Research Associate in Cartography and Spatial Media in the Urban Theory Lab (UTL) at the University of Chicago. With a background in architecture and urbanism, Bašić’s work draws together approaches from design, media, digital art, and journalism. Prior to joining UTL-Chicago, he held academic appointments at the Center for Spatial Research and the Center for Resilient Cities and Landscapes at Columbia University. He holds a Master in Design Studies degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and both Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
Neil Brenner is Professor of Urban Theory and Director of the Urban Theory Lab at the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University. His most recent books are Implosions/Explosions: Towards a Study of Planetary Urbanization (Jovis, 2014) and Critique of Urbanization: Selected Essays (Bauwelt Fundamente/Birkhäuser, 2016).
Mariano Gomez-Luque is director of the Urban Sciences Lab at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), affiliated researcher at the Urban Theory Lab (University of Chicago), and co-director of FORMA, an office for general architecture based in Córdoba, Argentina. His research explores the intersections among the design disciplines, critical urban theory and science fiction studies, with an emphasis on the status and potential of architectural production under conditions of planetary urbanization. Mariano holds a Doctor of Design (2019) and a Master of Architecture (2013) from Harvard GSD.
Nikos Katsikis is an urbanist working at the intersection of urbanization theory, design and geospatial analysis. His research seeks, through conceptual and cartographic experimentation, to contribute to a geographical understanding of the socio-metabolic relations between agglomerations and their operational landscapes. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Urbanism Department, TU Delft and affiliated researcher at Urban Theory Lab Chicago, and ETH Zurich. He holds a Doctor of Design from Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD), where he was also on the editorial board of the New Geographies journal.
