Alicia Acosta is a professional storyteller from Andalusia, Spain. Using her background as a psychologist, she works with children in schools to promote a love of reading. Her book, Little Captain Jack, was a finalist for the International Latino Book Award in the Best Children's Fiction Picture Book in English.

Mar Ferrero (Madrid, 1968) studied Fine Arts in Madrid. She was a cartoonist for some time before becoming an illustrator, which she has now been doing for many years. She has illustrated books and puzzles for Spain, USA, France, United Kingdom, China and Korea. She also writes and publishes her own short stories.

Cecilia Moreno has worked with a large number of international publishers and has also been selected for several awards. She has won the Miami Cuatrogatos Award twice.

The art style is minimalistic with blocks of color. There are whales and fish and dolphins in the scenes. I loved the design of the crew with eye patches and peg legs and even a cute girl with glasses. They are all so varied and funny! I love everything about this book!--Goodreads

Captain Marco and his crew are courageous and bold. I loved how they never give up, and keep sailing through the seas no matter what comes. The story describes them sailing around China and Japan and the Philippines.
