Braun Publishing is an independently owned, internationally active publishing house from Switzerland. We release under three renowned brands: Braun, Niggli, and Benteli. Braun specializes in books on architecture, interior design, and urban development. Our publishing program has made a worldwide name for itself over the past twenty years for its extensive range of reference books and popular works, as well as high-quality illustrated titles and architecture guides. Publisher and founder Markus Sebastian Braun places particular emphasis on the individuality of the content of our titles, especially in the singular featured projects and carefully crafted design. Niggli has always been synonymous with books of the highest quality. Our titles are contemporary and relevant: works that support and inspire our readers in their professional and academic lives in the areas of design, architecture, and especially typography. Our list also includes essential, timeless classics by authors like Josef Müller-Brockmann, Emil Ruder, and Rainer Hoffmann. The fundamental principles of lucidity, clarity, and reduction to essentials which Arthur Niggli established in 1950 are still at the heart of our design concepts today. Benteli can look back on more than 100 years of history and has made its eminent name by publishing works by artists such Henri Matisse, Wassily Kandinsky, Alberto Giacometti, and Niki de Saint Phalle. Apart from exclusive art publications, which remain an important focus, we publish carefully planned, beautifully written, and lavishly designed books on photography and culture. Our titles explore new developments and identify emergent innovative trends, examining and going beyond the limits of the respective disciplines.
