After many years of experience as a designer of bibliophile art and photography books for numerous museums, publishers and artists, in 1995 Klaus Kehrer founded the publishing house Kehrer Verlag Heidelberg—a logical adjunct to his successful design studio and, at the same time, a resolute step toward independence of design and content. Today Kehrer Verlag is among the world’s leading publishers of photo books. Its list includes renowned photographers and artists such as Helen Levitt, Saul Leiter, Arno Rafael Minkkinen, Sarah Moon, Stephen Shore and Nicholas Nixon, as well as numerous emerging artists. Over the years, many Kehrer publications have been nominated for and honored with international book awards. Kehrer regularly participates in national and international fairs and festivals.
