Scribe has been operating as a wholly independent trade publishing house for over forty years. What started off in 1976 as a desire on founder and publisher Henry Rosenbloom’s part to publish “serious nonfiction” has turned into a multi-award-winning company with over twenty-five staff members in Melbourne and London. Scribe is committed to publishing books that matter—quality fiction and nonfiction, with a particular emphasis on politics and current affairs, biography and history, and popular science and health. It publishes over sixty-five titles annually in Australia, over forty in the United Kingdom, and over forty in the United States. The editors in both our Melbourne and London offices spend each day sifting through submissions and manuscripts from around the world and commissioning and editing local titles in an uncompromising pursuit of the best books we can find, help create, and deliver to readers.
