Do¬ttir Press takes a feminist approach to publishing, working to fill the absences in both our history and present culture through storytelling in all forms and for all ages. Do¬ttir actively transmits feminist intellectual production, promotes narratives that are suppressed in widely distributed channels, and proposes a functional business model for radical work. Dottir will focus on stories that reflect common, but under-portrayed experiences. This includes making children’s books that speak with integrity and humor to the rich, complex reality of children’s lives; publishing critical feminist theory designed for the classroom as well as the armchair intellectual; and creating books that heal our fractured culture and connect communities.
