Nightboat Books, based in Brooklyn, New York, seeks to develop audiences for writers whose work resists convention and transcends boundaries, by publishing books rich with poignancy, intelligence, and risk. The press publishes poetry and prose, with a special focus on innovative and inter-genre writing, in quality paperback editions. Nightboat Books publishes new books by emerging and established writers, reprints and collections of work by authors who have fallen out of view or are outside the mainstream, and books in English- language translation, including titles by Wilson Bueno, Édouard Glissant, Hervé Guibert, and Hilda Hilst. The press has a strong commitment to publishing books by women, LGBTQ authors, and writers of color.
